"Gathering Spirits from All Directions and Blessings from the Ancestral Temple" Holy Ash Offering Ritual

Ten Directions Spirit Gathering • Ancestral Altar Blessing Sacred Ash Rite

Service Process

Sacred Ash Collection

Beneficiaries may designate 10 renowned Taoist temples (eg, Beijing Baiyun Temple, Wudang Mountain Zixiao Palace). Ordained Taoists collect ash following the Daozang • Ritual Code, taking only "three-finger pinch" (≈3g) per temple, symbolizing the union of Heaven-Earth-Humanity.

Ancestral Altar Consecration

An altar is set up at the Tianshi Mansion of Longhu Mountain (or Yuanfu Palace of Maoshan Mountain), and a high-level master who has been ordained to perform the "Five Directions Worshipping the True" ritual according to the "Taishang Xuanmen Gongke Jing" mixes the incense ashes from all directions with cinnabar and refines them to perfection, completing the qualitative change of "ashes into spirits".
At Longhu Mountain Celestial Master Temple (or Maoshan Yuanfu Palace), high-ranking priests perform the Five Directions Truth Liturgy according to Supreme Taoist Scripture, alchemically refining the ash with cinnabar through ritual refinement, achieving the spiritual transformation of "ash into essence".

Dharma Artifact Circulation

Sealed in a specially made bronze Bagua furnace (consecrated by the Big Dipper Seven Stars), with the master's handwritten "Three Officials Protection Talisman" and wax seal, sent through the customs special channel for religious items
Sealed in a bronze Eight-Trigrams Furnace (activated via Big Dipper Ritual), with handwritten Three Officials Protection Talisman and wax seal, shipped through religious customs clearance.

Taoist Interpretation

Essence of Ash
According to the "Yunji Qiqian", incense ash is "a medium for communicating with the truth and reaching the spirits". After being refined by hundreds of incense sticks, it has become the "essence of the earth veins" and has the effect of "protecting the house from disasters and prolonging life".
Per Yunji Qiqian*, ash serves as a "medium connecting divinity," transformed through collective worship into "earthly essence" for home protection and longevity.*

Ritual Core
Through the ritual of "All Dharmas Return to the Origin", the scattered spiritual power of the ten directions of incense is "recast in the ancestral temple", forming a miniature "cave heaven and blessed land" to provide for the believers' residences, which is in line with the Taoist concept of "the human body is a small world"
The Universal Dharma Convergence ritual re-forges scattered spiritual energy into a microcosmic "sacred realm," aligning with Taoist cosmology of body-as-universe.

Taboos
In the seventh month of the lunar calendar, believers need to perform a "Jie Evil Ceremony" in their birth year.
Requires additional Calamity Dispelling Ceremony during Ghost Month or zodiac birth years.
Avoid placing the incense burner directly opposite the bedroom door (it will offend the fetal god)
Avoid placing furnace facing bedroom doors (conflicts with fetal deity energies).
