在中国传统文化中,经常听到“身弱”这个说法。乍听起来有些玄学意味,但从心理学的角度来看,“身弱”实际上是指那些容易“精神内耗”的人。这样的人通常气血较差,喜欢胡思乱想,杂念多,负能量随之而来,缺乏安全感和自信。那么,如何才能变得更强呢?
In traditional Chinese culture, the term "constitutionally weak" (身弱, shēn ruò) is often mentioned. At first glance, it might sound metaphysical, but from a psychological perspective, it actually refers to people who are prone to "mental internal consumption" or mental drain. Such individuals typically have poor vitality (qi and blood), tend to overthink, have many distracting thoughts, attract negative energy, and lack a sense of security and self-confidence. So, how can one become stronger?
强者有强者的优势,弱者有弱者的长处。老子说“上善若水”,意思是柔弱才能持久。身强之人更适合短跑,而身弱之人更适合长跑。这个世界上没有绝对的好坏,只有适合与不适合。如果一个身弱的人按照身强的方式生活,会非常疲惫。每个人的气数不同,各有自己的节奏,不应被世俗所谓的标准所绑架,比如24岁结婚、26岁生孩子等。这些都是别人设定的标准,不一定适合每个人。
The strong have their advantages, and the weak have their strengths. Laozi said, "The supreme virtue is like water," meaning that softness and weakness can endure longer. Those who are constitutionally strong are more suited for sprints, while those who are constitutionally weak are better at marathons. There is no absolute good or bad in this world, only what is suitable and what is not. If a constitutionally weak person lives according to the ways of the constitutionally strong, they will become extremely exhausted. Everyone has their own unique vitality and rhythm, and should not be bound by so-called世俗 standards, such as getting married at 24 or having children at 26. These are standards set by others and may not be suitable for everyone.
身弱之人容易出现思想上的巨人,行动上的矮子。他们通常善于思考,看待事物的眼光更精准,能看穿事物的本质,更擅长智取。但他们也容易陷入思想的泥沼,在事情没有完全想清楚之前,不会轻易行动。这种谨慎有时也表现为胆小。相比之下,身强的人更倾向于行动派,不喜欢过多思考,而是直接去做。
Constitutionally weak individuals often become "giants in thought, dwarfs in action." They are usually good at thinking, have a more precise perspective on things, can see through the essence of matters, and are more adept at winning through wisdom (智取, zhì qǔ). However, they are also prone to getting stuck in the quagmire of thought and won't act easily until they have thoroughly thought things through. This caution can sometimes manifest as timidity. In contrast, constitutionally strong people tend to be action-oriented, preferring to just do things rather than overthink.
身弱的人如果处在不好的环境中,比如缺乏人脉、资源和背景,尤其是没有贵人相助,很多事情自己想不明白,就会被琐事占据心智带宽,内耗加剧,时间一久,便会感到无望,最终躺平。而一旦他们捅破了那层窗户纸,想明白了,就会实现质的飞跃。
If constitutionally weak people are in an unfavorable environment—lacking connections, resources, or background, and especially without the help of benefactors (贵人, guì rén)—they may struggle to figure things out on their own. Their mental bandwidth gets occupied by trivial matters, internal consumption intensifies, and over time, they may feel hopeless and eventually "lie flat" (躺平, tǎng píng, meaning give up striving). However, once they break through that "layer of window paper" (have a sudden insight) and figure things out, they can achieve a qualitative leap.
身弱的本质是能量低,能量的来源主要是身体和精神。很多人误以为身弱只是身体弱,实际上,身弱最核心的原因是“精神熵”太高。大脑的能量消耗远大于身体的日常消耗,因此内耗和胡思乱想是对生命能量的最大浪费。
The essence of being constitutionally weak is low energy, which primarily comes from the body and the spirit. Many people mistakenly think it's only about physical weakness. In reality, the core reason for being constitutionally weak is excessively high "mental entropy." The brain's energy consumption is far greater than the body's daily physical consumption; therefore, internal consumption and random thoughts are the biggest waste of life energy.
道家讲究能量积蓄,有“开口神气散,意动火工寒”之说,即开口和妄念都会散失精气神。打坐是道家的基本修炼方式,通过六根清净,实现“无漏”状态,即减少能量的散失,从而身强体健。这与心理学的接纳与承诺疗法(ACT)中的认知解离和正念观照理念相似,都是积蓄能量,减少内耗的妙法。
Taoism emphasizes the accumulation of energy. There's a saying: "Opening the mouth scatters the spirit and qi; thoughts moving chill the fire work (vital energy)," meaning that speaking and indulging in random thoughts dissipate one's essence, qi, and spirit (精气神, jīng-qì-shén). Meditation (打坐, dǎ zuò) is a fundamental Taoist practice. Through purifying the six senses (六根清净, liù gēn qīng jìng), one achieves a "leak-free" (无漏, wú lòu) state, reducing the loss of energy, thereby strengthening the body and mind. This is similar to the concepts of cognitive defusion and mindful observation in psychology's Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Both are wonderful methods for accumulating energy and reducing internal consumption.
认知解离是将自我从思想、意象和记忆中分离,客观地观察思想的活动,而不是被其控制。举个例子,当有人说你丑,大部分人会懊恼,但通过认知解离,意识到“丑”只是对方的主观评价,不必被其影响。观照自我则帮助关注真实的经验,促进认知解离和接纳,让人能够客观地观察自己的念头、情绪和思维,不随之起舞。
Cognitive defusion involves separating the self from thoughts, images, and memories, observing the activity of thoughts objectively rather than being controlled by them. For example, if someone calls you ugly, most people would be upset. But through cognitive defusion, one realizes that "ugly" is just the other person's subjective evaluation and doesn't have to be affected by it. Observing the self helps focus on actual experience, promotes cognitive defusion and acceptance, allowing one to objectively observe their own thoughts, emotions, and thinking patterns without getting entangled in them.
身弱之人要像猫一样适当摆烂,修身修心。猫咪随性慵懒,有自己的生活节奏,不被打乱,懂得如何让自己舒服。身弱的人也应如此,懂得适当放松,不要总是绷紧神经,适当摆烂,反而能提升运气。身弱的人要学会保护自己,减少内耗,远离负能量,懂得断舍离,保有干净的场。
Constitutionally weak people should learn to appropriately "摆烂" (bài làn - strategically let go/be deliberately idle) like cats, cultivating both body and mind. Cats are casual and lazy, have their own life rhythm that isn't easily disrupted, and know how to keep themselves comfortable. Similarly, those who are constitutionally weak should know how to relax properly, not always keep their nerves tense. Appropriately letting go can actually improve luck. They need to learn to protect themselves, reduce internal consumption, stay away from negative energy, understand the concept of "断舍离" (duàn shě lí - severing, discarding, detaching), and maintain a clean personal field (场, chǎng - energy field/space).
在生活中,身弱之人应减少社交,避免强融不合适的圈子;少设目标,避免过多的目标让自己内耗;少渡人,尊重他人的命运,过好自己的人生;少卖惨,不让卖惨的人接近自己;少比较,专注于自己的道路;少与小人纠缠,避免浪费能量。
In life, constitutionally weak people should: reduce social interactions and avoid forcing themselves into unsuitable circles; set fewer goals to avoid internal consumption from too many objectives; "save" fewer others (少渡人, respect others' fate and focus on living their own life well); avoid "selling misery" (卖惨, mài cǎn - wallowing in or dramatizing hardship) and not let those who do so near them; compare themselves to others less, focusing on their own path; and minimize entanglement with toxic people (小人, xiǎo rén - literally 'small person', means petty or malicious individuals) to avoid wasting energy.
身弱之人就应适当摆烂,减少内耗,保有能量。通过修身修心,学会断舍离,专注于自己的节奏和生活。这样才能让自己在内外的平衡中,找到属于自己的幸福和成功。
Constitutionally weak people should indeed appropriately let go, reduce internal consumption, and preserve energy. Through cultivating body and mind, learning to sever, discard, and detach, and focusing on their own rhythm and life, they can find their own happiness and success in a state of internal and external balance.
